Charalampos Samantzis Managing Director of CIE
Brief Profile
Charalampos Samantzis is EU Project Coordinator employed as Managing Director of Center for International Education while he has been responsible for the Lifelong Learning Center of the University of Thessaly from 2016. From 2004 he has been employed in the Career Services Office of the Institution and European project coordinator in various initiatives. Being responsible for the development of the strategy and implementation plan for the Career Services Office, he was also responsible for developing and expanding the base of organizations interested in offering training and employment opportunities to students graduating from the University of Thessaly.
He represents extensive experience both in terms of project coordination and project management in various European initiatives. In his present role as project manager, beyond the coordination and the management of the existent portfolio of various European projects he enjoys the responsibility of assisting the faculty of Institution in terms of preparing proposals and applications for funding. At the moment (2016 – 2018) he participates either as coordinator or as partner in an extensive portfolio of projects under the following actions: H2020, Erasmus+, Erasmus+ Sports, EASME, DG Employment, DG Enterprise & Industry, DG Justice.

Maria Adamakou Global Partnerships Director
Brief Profile
Adamakou Maria is Director for International Partnerships in the Center of International Education (CIE) of the University of Thessaly. Additionally, she is Administrative Coordinator to the UTH Rector’s Office. Maria holds a Master degree on Regional Development studies from the Department of Planning and Regional Development at the University of Thessaly and is currently PhD Candidate at the Department of Planning and Regional Development. Her research is focused on the investigation of the relation between Higher Education and Regional Growth. Maria also has a BA in International Economics and Politics from the University of Macedonia. As an undergraduate, she studied in Ghent, Belgium for a semester. Maria is passionate about travelling and Mandarin language. Before entering the field of international education, she worked for over ten years in adult education, tourism, marketing and sales.

Eleni Vezali, EU Project Manager
Brief Profile
Eleni Vezali is currently employed in the CIE as EU project manager. From 2016 she has been employed in the Lifelong Learning Centre of University of Thessaly as a Project Manager contribution to the implementation of a portfolio of EU projects’ initiatives. She operates as a project manager and financial supervisor in a number of European projects activities including Erasmus+ (e.g. VET4MIGRE, PAESIC, other), EASME (Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs), DG Employment (POST2COMi, Transposition) and in many others as well. She provides a wide range of assistance given her studies in Applied Economics and Finance, offering a helping hand to both the financial aspects of programs as well as the technical and researching parts. Through the Operational Program “Local Employment Plans across Greece (TOPSA)” she was given the opportunity to successfully participate in training activities to people with fewer opportunities with a highly interactive character.

Dimitra Printziou, EU Project Manager
Brief Profile
Dimitra Printziou is currently employed in the CIE mainly responsible for the financial management of the European projects. She is responsible for the all the financial and administrative aspects related with the projects’ implementation. From 2016 she has been employed in the Lifelong Learning Centre of University of Thessaly providing the necessary contribution to the implementation of various national training and European programs. She participates both in the design and the implementation of various projects while she has great experience in the fields of special education due to her collaboration with the Society of People with visual impairment for the district of Magnesia “Magnites Tifli” which empowered her with excellent organizational, and technical and researching skills working with disabled people in a practical manner. Furthermore, she was employed as a professor in private institutions from July 2014 to present. She graduated from the Department of Economics in University of Thessaly with expertise in Banking and Finance with her MCs studies also in the field of Economics having acquired BRAIL (system/code from visually impaired and disabled).
